Can Hibiscus grow and thrive with some filtered shade. The variety that I bought recommends full sun. The area where I'd like to plant them has full morning sun and is partly shaded in the afternoon. Thanks for your help, Joe

Joe,

I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question and hope it is still helpful to you.

Hibiscus likes full sun or at least six hours of sun per day. The area you describe sounds okay but is somewhat borderline. You may just have to try them and see how they do. If they don't perform well you can always move them to another location in the fall or spring.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
