The Q&A Archives: Getting rid of morning glorys

Question: I threw seed and in one of my beds, I must have stired up some Morning Glorys they have taken over. How can I get rid of them?

Answer: Donna,

I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question and hope it is still helpful to you.

Morning glory leads are very difficult to get rid of. The best way is to hand pick them although I realize this can be a lot of work. An alternative is to wipe a solution of Roundup on the foliage taking care not to get it on desirable plants. Mix the solution at about a 20% rate and use a sponge type applicator to wipe it directly onto the weed to be killed.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
