In spring, do you trim your lavender and thyme down and let new growth develop or do you let it go naturally?

You are growing my two favorite herbs. Many lavenders do bloom throughout the summer, so shearing will sacrifice future blooms. If the plant has stopped blooming and become leggy, than you could trim it back. Thyme can be trimmed in summer after flowering to keep it tidy.
