| It's not critical to plant grapes on an east-west line. More important is location: protected from north and west winds and in heat pockets that trap the south and east sunlight. The two-wire Kniffin training system allows for better fruit productionthan an overhead arbor, and the pruning is easier. This system also takes up less space. If you have the room, why not grow some vines on an arbor for beauty and some on wires for the fruit! |
