I just purchased a weeping cherry at a HD in our area. It does not have any leaves on it and the branches look dried out. The Garden shop employee said it was probably

Cherry trees are usually in bloom in early spring, followed by leafing out. It's June and if your new tree is not showing any signs of life, I think it should be replaced. I'd return it for one that is showing signs of life.
