I live in northern CT. Two months ago we had an area of our yard seeded. Topsoil was brought in and it was fertilized and seeded. Some of it is coming in well, but there are areas that are very sparse. What is the best way to reseed those areas to thicken it up? Thanks for your help.

You can rake the bare areas to roughen up the soil surface and then broadcast seeds in those areas. If you cover the seeds with a thin layer of peat moss it will help keep the seeds moist and will also hide the seeds from hungry birds.

Best wishes with your lawn!
