There are three types of fig trees offered at our HD; Giant Blue, Turkish Brown, & Celestial. Does anyone have any experience with these varieties? Thanks.

All figs are easy to grow so I think your choice comes down to flavor. Taste testing is rather subjective, but an informal taste test among experts showed Brown Turkey, with its purplish brown skin and pinkish amber flesh was best for eating fresh. The tree is small and hardy. Celeste (aka Celestial, including Giant Blue Celeste) comes in second with the testers. The fruit is small to medium (somewhat larger with the Giant), the skin is light violet to violet-brown, and the flesh reddish amber. It is very sweet and usually eaten dried. The tree is small, productive and hardy.
