I live in New England - specifically Revere, MA and not sure what zone you consider it. I have planted numerous tomato plants (in for 2 weeks now)- different varieties. Is Miracle Grow the best to use for them?? How often should tomato plants be watered and specifically how often do you feed them?? Do I water early morning or in the evening? I appreciate any informatin you can give me. Thanks for your help.

Tomatoes will grow like weeds if they have a few necessities: lots of sunshine and ample water. It is important that the tomatoes receive sufficient water during the season. The soil should be soaked 6 to 8 inches deep at 7-day intervals. Mulches such as wheat straw or composted leaves around the tomato plants will help conserve soil moisture during July and August so be sure to mulch around your plants.

Sidedress tomato plants with 2 to 3 Tbsp. per plant of a complete fertilizer such as 8-8-8 or 10-10-10 after the plants have started to set fruit and feed every 4 weeks thereafter throughout the growing season. Keep the sidedressing material 4 to 6 inches from the plant's stem to avoid fertilizer burn.

Hope you have a bountiful harvest!
