I have small to large areas of what I assume is algae or fungus on my back lawn only. My front lawn is fine. It is very hard, crunchy, and gets orange-pinkish spores. It is not very thick and grows in unsymetrical shapes. The lawn is 90% sun. I have pictures if there is a way to load them. Please help!! Someone from here said it might be pearlwort but the picture of that is not even close.

I think I answered your original question. Based upon the spores, I thought it was pearlwort. However, if it gets hard and crunchy, it might be slime mold. Here's a website with photos of slime mold: http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/p...

See if that's what you have growing on your lawn.
