Developing a landscape plan can be easily done if you divide your yard into sections and try to envision what you'd like to see in that area. Do you want a desert scape or something that looks a little more tropical and refreshing? Do you need to block a view or hide utilities such as trash cans? Once you've made a list of the things you do want and don't want you can draw your ideas out on paper. Then you get to choose your plants. For an idea of a simple flower bed, visit the Arizona State University Master Gardener website http://ag.arizona.edu/pubs/gar...
and click on planning a garden. You'll find a line drawing and a list of suggested plants. Or, you can go to Monrovia.com and see some of the finished landscape designs on their website, along with lists of suitable plants.

I know you'll come up with some great ideas after visiting these two websites.

Best wishes with your garden!
