| Because of flooding in our area my landlord chose to put additional dirt around our house foundation, near where I had many tulips and hyacinths. The new soil depth would have been too great so I dug up as many as I could. They had already bloomed and were starting to brown out. How do I save these bulbs and when should I replant them? |
| I would replant the bulbs as soon as possible. They may not flower for you next spring if the leaves didn't die down on their own (the leaves transport energy back into the bulb for the next year's floral display). If the leaves did die down on their own, they should flower for you next spring. In either case, go ahead and plant them back into the ground now. Best wishes with your garden! |
