I'd purchase a seed mixture especially formulated for your growing region and then broadcast the seeds over the area in the fall when natural rainfall will keep the seeds moist. One place to purchase wildflower seeds is American Meadows (www.americanmeadows.com) click on southeast mixtures and you'll get to this page:
http://www.americanmeadows.com...

You can read about the 70 varieties included in the mixture and decide whether or not they're the plants you want to grow.

Best wishes with your wildflower meadow!
