| According to the NY Botanical Garden Encyclopedia, you're in luck! Nandina take easily to transplanting, so long as the new site is to its liking (sunny or slightly shady location, with average garden soil that tends not to be droughty). Spring is agood time to move it so it'll have all summer to get comfortably established in its new spot. Water it frequently and mulch with a thick layer of bark. You can prune it before it starts its spring growth, cutting branches back to within a foot of thebase, and it'll send out a profusion of new shoots. |
