Answer: The ferny foliage is collecting and transporting energy back to the roots of your plants so leave it alone. It will die down on its own and when that happens you can either remove it from the asparagus bed or you can simply leave it alone (it will fall down over the crowns of the plants and help insulate the roots during the winter months).
