The Q&A Archives: Grasses

Question: I have several very large feather grass bushes. What is the proper method of pruning and when should it be done?

Answer: Early spring is the best time to groom your feather grasses. Either pull the old parts of the plant (wear gloves and pull straight up - the old foliage will come right up) or cut the entire plant down to just about ground level. It should produce new growth immediately.
