The Q&A Archives: Best Container Tomato Varieties

Question: I am starting my first "garden" this year. I would like to grow tomatoes in containers and sunflowers. My property has plenty of full sun spots especially on a patio. I would like suggestions on what varieties to grow that are easy and basic for a beginner. Thank you very much. What a great service to be able to ask questions to an expert gardener. Answer: We're happy to help you. Some good tomato varieties for containers are 'Pixie', 'Bush Big Boy' and 'Tumbler'. Siome dwarf sunflower varieties that would grow well in containers include 'Sunspot', 'Happy Face', 'Teddy Bear' and 'Tangina'.
