Lilies grow best outdoors. Those you can purchase as houseplants have been grown under the bright light and artificial humidity of a greenhouse. Although it is possible to force lily bulbs to grow indoors, they won't be as spectacular as those grown outdoors and will probably not bloom for you. If you want to enjoy lilies indoors, plant the bulbs in pots and place them outdoors. When the flowers just begin to open you can bring the pot indoors and enjoy the fragrance and beauty of the flowers.

Best wishes with your garden!
