We have a terrible mosquito problem every summer in our yard, we can't use the yard for literally breathing them in and although we have done all we can think of (apply bug repellants when outdoors, eliminate standing water, clean out bird baths daily, even spray our underbrush with a commercial permethrin solutions) our neighbor has a ruined greenhouse with a stagnant shallow well in it which even he admits is the likely source of the neighborhood problems. What low-priced control measures can we offer him to eliminate his mosquito breeding farm? He won't consider pumping out the water. He tossed in a couple mosquito dunks but to no good effect.

I don't know which county you live in, but most counties in MA provide mosquito abatement programs which includes spraying areas with high populations of mosquitoes. Contact your local health department and they should be able to direct you to the mosquito abatement contacts within your county. Best wishes with your project!
