Here are some suggestions for you to consider;

Variegated Goutweed (Aegopodium podograria ?Variegatum?)

Fast growing and suitable for full sun to moderate shade. Grows to 6 inches tall with white flowers in June. Can become aggressive. Foliage tends to scorch in very dry soils. Space 6?8 inches apart. Perennial.

Bugleweed (Ajuga reptans)

Popular and useful groundcover for light to moderate shade. Grows 2?3 inches tall with blue flowers in early spring. Prefers rich, well-drained soils. Small and large-leaved varieties available with foliage color ranging from bronze to variegated. Space 8?12 inches apart. Perennial.

Lady?s Mantle (Alchemilla vulgaris)

Soft gray-green velvet, lobed leaves. Grows 6?12 inches tall in tight mounds. Prefers full sun to light shade. Has a tendency to reseed so can become aggressive. Glistening beads of water held on leaves after rains or heavy dew make it attractive. Chartreuse flowers in late spring. Space 8?12 inches apart. Perennial.

Canadian Wild Ginger (Asarum canadense)

Excellent for moist woodland or naturalized area in light to dense shade. Grows to 4?6 inches tall and has a slow to moderate growth rate. Reddish, bell-shaped flowers carried under the foliage in early spring. Dull green foliage makes for a clean attractive look. Space 8?12 inches apart. Perennial.

Carpathian Bellflower (Campanula carpatica ?Blue Clips?)

Excellent as a groundcover in the mixed perennial border. A floriferous groundcover growing 6?8 inches tall with a compact habit. Grows well in full sun to light shade. Flat, bell shaped flowers are produced during the summer. Space 12?14 inches apart. Perennial.

Tiny Rubies Carnation (Dianthus gratianopolitanus ?Tiny Rubies?)

Popular, low maintenance groundcover. Prefers full sun and grows to one inch tall. Pink flowers from spring into summer. Forms nice neat mounds and resists opening up in the center. Space 6?12 inches apart. Perennial.

Sweet Woodruff (Galium odoratum)

Excellent groundcover for dense shade areas. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Grows 6?10 inches tall. Fine textured foliage has a new mowed hay fragrance. White flowers in spring. Attractive as a groundcover under azalea and rhododendron and with spring flowering bulbs and wildflowers.Space 10?14 inches apart. Perennial.

Daylily (Hemerocallis sp.)

Useful for small to large areas. Virtually maintenance free and indestructible. Tolerates a wide range of soils in full sun to light shade. Varieties available from 12?36 inches tall. Space 10?16 inches apart. Perennial.

Hakone Grass (Hakonechloa macra ?Aureola?)

Golden, bamboo-like foliage on plants that have a weeping habit. Forms a 12?18 inch tall mound and prefers light to moderate shade and moist, high organic soils. Excellent for shaded sites. Spreads at a slow rate. Space 10?18 inches apart. Perennial.

Candytuft (Iberis sempervirens)

Slow spreading, mound forming evergreen groundcover growing from 8?12 inches tall. Prefers full sun and must have well-drained soil in order to overwinter successfully. White flowers in mid-spring. Space 12?18 inches apart. Perennial.

I've included both sun lovers and shade lovers so you can situate them in just the right exposure. I'd plant several different ground covers to give your garden that wow! look.

Best wishes with your new plants.
