ivy for sun and shade fast growning to stop erosions - Knowledgebase Question

we have some very steep banks. what kind of ivy would i plant that could take sun and shade and over rocks. does ivy need to be watered a lot. any suggestions would help

Ivy the would cover that area but is not your only option. It grows well with some shade but it does take a lot of water in the sun. Another options would be short clumping ornamental grasses (if the area receives very good light). I suggest you contact your County Extension Office to see if they have a list of adapted plants for your area on hand.
