Something keeps eating the petals of my Harvest Moon coneflowers. They look as if they have been nibbled partially down toward the center. Coneflowers are know to be pretty pest free...any ideas?

You're right, not many insect pests bother with coneflowers, but July is the prime month for Japanese Beetles in the garden. Check your plants carefully to see if you can find these critters. Or, just wait them out. They're only active for 3-4 weeks during the summer months.

Good luck with your coneflowers!
