The Q&A Archives: Groundcover in Fowerbed

Question: I have several flower beds in my backyard. They receive afternoon sun. I am looking for a good groundcover that covers fairly quickly, takes little care, and spreads.

Answer: How about periwinkle (Vinca minor)? It is a low-maintenance, evergreen, flowering groundcover that enjoys partly-shady places. It's not so vigorous that it'll take over and choke out your other plants, like some groundcovers can. Park Seed has a few varieties to choose from.
