Answer: I can't tell from your description what the weed might be - dodder (if it has no leaves), creeping charlie (scalloped leaves) or bindweed (heart shaped leaves). There's no chemical control for dodder so keep pulling it out. Creeping charlie and field bindweed are difficult to control with chemicals but it can be done. Check your local garden center's arsenal of lawn products and try to match the picture on the label with the weed you're finding in your lawn.
