I am very interested in planting gooseberries and currants but am having trouble finding them. I do not want to buy the small plant available through the mail that often fail before they produce fruit. I am a resident of Ohio. Any suggestions? Do you think mail order it the way to go? Do you know any specific hints for these plants? Thanks for your time.

Ohio State University suggests nurseries for small fruits on the Cornell website:
