The Q&A Archives: azalea

Question: I planted all color azalea bushes about 5 years ago. All blossom except my white bushes. They blossom one time when I first planted them but no more. What should I do next season for them to blossom.

Answer: Different azaleas sometimes have different requirements for sun or shade. If you are not pruning your white azalea (and accidentally cutting off the flower buds) then it probably is not getting enough sunshine. Try to find the name of the azalea and we can guide you as to whether it will be happy with just morning sunshine or if it needs afternoon sunshine as well.
