| My grand daughter notice bees around the mail box. My husband saw what seemed to be a small honeycomb of bees and he tore it down. A couple of days latter we found a large bee hive over our door, my husband managed to tear that down also, but since then we have found 3 more smaller honecombs attached to our house. Two of them are so high I don't think my husband can reach them. The third one was near a window. He was able to tear that one down . Two questions why are they building hives and nest on my property and how do we stop it? This are very active nest and hives. I am afraid of bees I have been stung twice in the past. This is my new dream home and I'm almost afraid to go out and water my lawn. |
| Lots of people are afraid of bees but bees are necessary in our gardens. They pollinate flowers and that's an important thing! However, I understand that you don't want them nesting in your house! The easiest way to discourage their nesting is to hose the honeycombs down as soon as you see them. Just use a strong spray of water from the hose and soak the nest. If you do this when they are first being built, and keep hosing them down periodically, the bees or wasps will find another place to nest. They don't like water in their homes!
