| Hydrangeas need at least 4 hours of morning sunshine in order to bloom. They develop flowering shoots on old wood. If your shrubs are getting at least 4 hours of sunshine every day and if you have not pruned in the spring, and the plants do not freeze down to ground level each winter, then too much nitrogen fertilizer may be to blame. Even if you don't feed your hydrangeas, the non-flowering one may be getting fertilizer runoff from a nearby lawn. Hope this information helps you determine why your hydrangea is not blooming.
