The Q&A Archives: Yams

Question: When is the best time to plant yams?

Answer: Sweet potatoes (or yams--botanically a different plant) should be planted once the soil temperature has reached at least 70F. They are heat-loving plants and require a relatively long, warm growing season to mature.
