| Brown patches can simply be cool season grasses that have gone dormant over the summer months (they'll green up again when the weather cools down), or they could be a result of drought, dog urine, or they may even be a disease. It's difficult to make a recommendations without knowing what lead up the the brown patches. When did they appear? How have you been watering/fertilizing/mowing your lawn?
