The Q&A Archives: Jujub tree

Question: I planted two jujub trees this past springhere in Austin,Tx. Both trees grew short branches and leaves. One trees leaves have since turned brown on one tree the other is green and seems healthy. Both get watered weekly..Is It gone and/or what can I do?

Answer: Chester,

That is a tough call. It is certainly not a good sign. This has been a long dry summer and with a new tree it is a balancing act between too dry and soggy wet as both extremes are deadly. Keep trying to maintain moist soil and see if the brown tree starts to regreen over time.
