The Q&A Archives: Fruit Size

Question: Whhat do I do to make my frut tree's fruit larger?

Answer: The fewer fruits your tree has, the more energy it can direct to each fruit which will result in larger fruits. In June after the apples begin to develop you can clip off 2-3 from each cluster, leaving the largest 2-3 on the tree. These apples will grow larger because they will not be crowded and they'll be sweeter, too. You can thin the apples out now and it may make a difference in their size this year.

Best wishes with your apple tree!
