At what time of year should we prune our vinca? It is a ground cover on one area of our lot and it is too thick.

Vinca minor is a vining groundcover that only needs occasional attention. You can cut it back in the spring, using a weed-wacker or lawn mower set on the highest setting. Go over it carefully or the vines will become entangled in the blade of the mower, clogging the works!
