Without knowing your gardening zone, or whether the planting site is sunny or shady, I can only offer a few all-purpose suggestions:
Camellia japonica (camellia) grows in partial shade; has an upright, columnar growth habit, 8-10' tall; 6-7' wide.

Camellia sasanqua (camellia) grows in sun or part shade, upright growth habit, 8-10' tall, 5-7' wide.

Cleyera japonica (cleyera), partial shade, 8-12' tall; 6-7' wide.

Deutzia scabra (Deutzia), sun to part shade; oval, tall growth habit; 8-10' tall, 6-8' wide. Has arching branches with brown peeling bark.

Elaeagnus pungens (thorny elaeagnus), full sun; spreading pendulating branches; 8-12' tall, 6-10' wide. Has fragrant flowers.

Ilex crenata (Japanese holly); sun to part shade; semi-globular form; 10-12' tall and 6-8' wide.

Good luck with your garden.
