My front lawn is being taken over with crab grass. Weed and Feed has not helped at all. What can I put on the grass that will kill the crab grass down to its root?

Aside from digging it out, roots and all, there's not any control strategy that will be effective now. Crabgrass is a warm season annual. I would mow regularly and tolerate it this season. Then next year in early spring you could put out a preemergence herbicide to prevent it from returning. It's easier to stop it in early spring when it is vulnerable than to try and kill it off now. Wish I had more solutions for you!
