I agree - taking care of a large yard is labor intensive. You can reduce the amount of turfgrass by converting part of your lawn it into a sitting or patio area (laying stepping stones over the earth rather than having lawn) and you can extend the sizes of your border flower beds. Planting perennials in the beds and then covering the bare soil with weed barrier fabic, topped with decorative bark will reduce the amount of time you'll need to spend weeding the beds. Hope these ideas are helpful!
