i have no space for a garden so i'm using pots and i have a cucumber plant in a large one and the cats keep getting in there and doing there business. how can i keep them out with out putting chemicals in the soil as i'm trying to keep it organic?

The best approach is to place a barrier between that nice, soft soil and the cats. A piece of hardware cloth or window screening cut to fit inside the pot will work; nylon fishing line criss-crossing over the top of the pot, or even some crumpled aluminum foil placed on the soil in the pot will also discourage the cats. Once they determine they cannot dig in the pot, they'll go elsewhere.

Best wishes with your garden!
