What causes black spots on the leaves of my plants? - Knowledgebase Question

Several of my plants, azeleas and trees have black spots on the leaves. Am I watering them too much or is this a disease?

Paula,

Black sots are usually due to a fungus or bacterial disease. That said, most diseases affect only one species of plants. The fact that you have these spots on several species is very unusual.I suggest you place some leaves from various plants into ziplock bags and take them to your local County Extension Office and see if they can look them over and identify the cause(s).
