Unfortunately there aren't any vegetables that will really thrive in the shade. Most vegetables need full sun to grow and produce well. Plants grown for their foliage--lettuce, greens, and some herbs, for example--will often tolerate a little shade, but not a deep shady spot. Is there a place in the sun you could set a container? Many plants, like tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant, will grow quite nicely in containers. There's even a tomato variety suitable for a hanging planter (hung in the sun, of course.)
