Question: Could you recommend the most fragrant annuals and perennials for zone 4 or 5 area?

Answer: There are an enormous number of annuals to choose from so I'll recommend just a few: Fragrant white nicotiana, evening-scented stocks, heliotrope, alyssum, and mignonette. Here's the perennial list: Yarrow, golden marguerite, wormwood, butterfly weed, sweet woodruff, fragrant tube clematis (Clematis heracleaefolia davidiana), Hosta plantaginea and Chinese peony (Paeonia lactiflora/albiflora).
