Chinese Tallow Tree - Knowledgebase Question

Thank you for telling me about the Chinese Tallow. You mentioned that it got fruit, is this fruit edible?Does the tree drop a sap that will get over the sidewalk? Eager for news.

I'm afraid the fruit is not edible. The wax of the seeds is harvested and can be used as a substitute for vegetable oil in cooking, but it's an extensive process to extract the wax and a bit iffy because other parts of the plants are toxic. So I would just use it as an ornamental and not plan on using any of the fruit or seeds. My research does not indicate that it will drop sap on sidewalks. Hope this answers all your questions!
