I also want to know about using Round-Up and what effect it might have on pets? Can I use it but wait until it dries until I let them in the back yard? I have a lawn guy but the weeds are terrible I think that he is spraying water because even after he comes to spray not one weed will die or even droop it's head. |
| According to the Round Up label, pets should be kept off the treated area until the product dries. Once it has dried there won't be a problem with it being transferred to other areas of the garden. The rust you're finding could indicate a fungal disease. I would point it out to the lawn care guy. I would also ask specifically what weed killer he is applying. Some kill on contact, others work on the roots of plants and some are pre-emergents, meaning they keep weed seeds from germinating. So, depending upon what he's using, you may not see immediate results. But, if the lawn is relatively weed free, he's probably doing something right. A thick, healthy lawn should crowd out most weeds. However, iIf you're not satisified with the results of his efforts, you might find another company to take care of your lawn.
