Hi again, I forgot to mention 6 other perennials that I have--do I leave them in the fall or do I cut them down?? Sweet Williams Salvia Thrift (Armeria Maritima) Lavender Calla Lily Lily of the Valley Thank you, Carole |
There's always some controversy about cutting perennials down in the fall. I prefer to leave mine alone until early spring. Although you could remove the dead foliage after the first frost, if you leave it in the garden it will help insulate the roots of the plants over the winter months. Then in early spring you can remove all the debris and your plants will spring right up. Enjoy your garden! |
