Can you please recommend some good tomato varieties for our location? Especially for jarring or for salads.

Ahh, tomatoes, my passion. There are hundreds of varieties to choose from, all with there own tastes and benefits. Here are a few that are good eaten fresh in salads and for canning. Enjoy.

Viva Italia- mostly a canning tomato, but still good eaten fresh.
Ensalada- A saladette-type that is great eaten fresh or processed.
Big Beef- Mostly a fresh eating variety, but is a great all-around variety to grow.

These are all available from Burpee Seeds.(800-888-1447
