I KNOW THAT THIS ONE BLOOMS FROM OLD WOOD SO DO NOT CUT I BACK UNTIL SPRING AFTER I SEE WHAT STEMS HAVE NEW LEAVES. I HAVE 2 PLANS THAT ARE NOT BLOOOMING AND ARE ABOUT 10 YEARS OLD. ACTUALY 3 OTHER HYDRANGES ARE ALSO NOT BLOOMING BUT MY LACE CAP IS BLOOMING GREAT. I HAVE NOT FERTALIZE ANY OF THESE PLANTS FOR THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS. |
Sounds like you're doing everything right for your hydrangeas but you didn't mention what kind of exposure to the sun. Hydrangeas need at least 4 hours of morning sun. If they get afternoon sun they will still bloom but the leaves and stems will wilt. They will recover overnight, though. So if your plants are not getting at least 4 hours of morning sun, that might be why they won't bloom for you. |
