What type of soil should be used?

In the landscape, any good garden soil will be fine. In a container, use potting soil such as Kellogg's or Miracle Gro or Scott's. The important thing is that the soil drains well yet is rich and full of organic matter. If you're planting in the landscape you can mix some compost, peat moss or leaf mold into the planting area when you plant your lime tree.
