My question can I store my cured compost for next spring? For now I am storing it in a 55 gal. Garbage Can.

As long as you can provide fresh air, you can store your compost. If you don't want to punch ventilation holes in the garbage can, be sure to stir it every few weeks and don't forget to replace the garbage can lid with some screening material to keep out varmits and allow fresh air in.
