My lawn is slightly green on top but really have dry roots under. Everytime we cut the grass it looks dry not green. I want to know what can I do to make it look healthier and beautiful green? Should I buy seeds and spread on top or fertilizer? Please what should I do?

Alva,
I think that both regular watering and fertilizing are important. But the single best thing you can do is to mow regularly. Infrequent moving results in cutting too much off exposing the brown lower portions of the plant. Mow often cutting off less and your lawn will be denser and look better.
