How long does sugar cane take to grow before I can cut it an eat it,After I do cut a stalk will more stalks grow there..I started it from a piece I cut and stuck in the ground...Thank you..Wendy

Wendy,
It is usually large stemmed and ready to eat after the first long growing season. You can cut it back to a stub and it will resprout and regrow. You can also stick sections of cane in the ground to root an make new plants.
