Houston vegetables for fall - Knowledgebase Question

In the spring we planted eggplant, peppers, and tomatoes. Now that fall is coming, do we keep those vegetables all in the ground, or will they fail in the winter months? We thought of planting onions and carrots for fall/winter, is that a good idea for Houston?

Keep them in until the first freeze to get all the harvest out of them you can. There are a number of things you can plant from now through winter in your area. The following web sites provide a vegetable planting guide:
