While looking for something to kick up my Chili, I was sold a packet of "Red Savina Habanero Seeds" and was told that these were the hottest spice in the world. Is this really true?

You've got the real thing there! 'Red Savina' habanero has registered over 300,000 on the Scoville Heat Rating scale. The scale only goes to 300,000, so you see these guys are really hot! The small, 'Aji' pepper is also very hot, but when we're talking this spicy, I don't think you can tell the difference any more. Grow 'Red Savina' as you would any other hot pepper. It will take longer to mature and really likes hot weather. Keep a fire hose close by!
